Dr. January Lopez joined NHRA in 2010, currently serves on the group's Executive Committee and is Director of Breast Imaging for the Hoag Breast Program. She has been selected by the Orange County Medical Association as a ""Physician of Excellence"" consecutive years since 2016 and was recognized as one of the ""Top Women in Healthcare"" by Orange County Coast Magazine in 2019. In 2020, Dr. Lopez was honored by the LA Chargers as one of the NFL's "Hometown Heroes".

Dr. Lopez is an expert in breast imaging and interventions, and an outspoken advocate for access to breast cancer screening. She has spoken in numerous national and regional forums including events for the National Consortium of Breast Centers, Susan G. Komen, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Lopez has authored several radiology manuscripts and textbook chapters, and served previously as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the USC Keck School of Medicine.

She graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude from UC Berkeley, and received her medical degree from UCLA Medical School, where she served as President of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, as well as President of the UCLA Student Chapter of the American Medical Association. She was named ""Intern of the Year"" during her internship year at St. Mary's Medical Center in Long Beach, California. Dr. Lopez served as Chief Resident in Radiology at UCLA and was the recipient of the ""Radiology Resident of the Year"" award in 2009. Following residency, she completed her fellowship training in Breast Imaging at UCLA.

Outside of NHRA, she gives back to the community in her role on the Susan G. Komen Leadership Council.

Dr. Lopez serves as a NHRA Vice President and member of the Executive Committee.
